From I-84 Westbound...
- Get off exit 8 and the follow signs that show the way to
the Motor Vehicle Department - they will lead you most of
the way to Black Dog Cycles.
- Proceed straight on Newtown Road for 1.8 miles
- Turn left at the light onto Triangle and continue to follow
signs until you ride past the Motor Vehicles Department
- Turn right onto Shelter Rock and then immediately left
at the light onto South Street
- Continue on South Street for 4/10ths of a mile- You will
see Black Dog Cycles on your left at 9 South Street.
From I-84 Eastbound...
- We are 3 miles from exit 5 of I-84.
- From the exit, proceed straight until you reach Main St.
which is also called Route 39 and Route 53.
- Turn right onto Main St. and continue to follow signs for
Route 53 for exactly 3.2 miles. You will see Black
Dog Cycles on your left at 9 South Street.
From Route 7 Northbound...
- (Why you would want to use Route 7 is beyond us - there
are much more enjoyable routes to take)
- Just keep going north and get on I-84 eastbound
- Then use the I-84 directions above.
Scenic Route...
If you would like to take a much more scenic route through Easton,
Weston and Redding, you have 2 options:
- From the Merritt Parkway exit 42…
- Head north on Route 57 (Weston Rd.) for 4 miles
- Continue straight onto Route 53 for another 13 miles
through some of the most scenic areas of Connecticut. Be
sure to follow the signs for Route 53 as you go, especially
where it makes a left near the end of the beautiful
Saugatuck Reservoir. 17 miles into your trip
from the Merritt, you will see Black Dog Cycles right
in front of you at 9 South Street.
- From the Merritt Parkway exit 44…
- Head north on Route 58 (Black Rock Tpke.) for 15
miles through more beautifully scenic areas of Connecticut. Simply
stay straight on Route 58 as you go while you enjoy
the scenic beauty of Fairfield, Easton and Redding,
including the beautiful Hemlocks Reservoir on your
right. For a scenic 3 mile bypass you can also
continue straight onto Sunset Hill Rd. at about 11
miles into your trip from the Merritt. You will
end up right back on Route 58 and then proceed for
another mile until you reach Route 302 in Bethel.
- Turn left onto Route 302 and enjoy the quaint New
England Town of Bethel for the next 2 miles.
- Turn right onto Route 53 just after you pass the
historic old Sycamore Drive-in where you can stop for
some lunch or a snack if you like.
- Continue straight on Route 53 for half a mile. You
will see Black Dog Cycles right in front of you at
9 South Street.
